Mission/Description

Our mission is to revolutionize the status and well-being of companion animals.

Maddie’s Fund®, The Pet Rescue Foundation, is a family foundation funded by PeopleSoft Founder Dave Duffield, and his wife, Cheryl, to help create a no-kill nation. The first step is to help create programs that guarantee loving homes for all healthy shelter dogs and cats throughout the country. The next step will be to save the sick and injured pets in animal shelters nationwide. Maddie's Fund® is named after the family's beloved Miniature Schnauzer who passed away in 1997.

Areas of Funding

1) Community-wide collaborations of adoption groups, animal control and traditional shelters, and private practice veterinarians, working together to implement an adoption guarantee that ends the killing of healthy and treatable shelter dogs and cats in their community within ten years.

2) University-developed Shelter Medicine Programs

(See www.maddiesfund.org for more details)

or Priorities
