Important Note to Grantseekers

Each foundation has its own unique mission, program priorities and guidelines. Some foundations do not accept unsolicited proposals, and others have strict requirements about what should be included in a proposal and when it should be submitted. To save your valuable time and ours, please conduct thorough research on each Animal Grantmaker member before approaching it for funding. (The Foundation Center website, www.fdncenter.org, is a good starting place.) A letter of inquiry or phone call is usually the preferred means of making initial contact with foundations.
