Animal Grantmakers Conference

When: November 13-15, 2011
Where: Sheraton Delfina in Santa Monica, California

We hope you will join us for the 2011 annual conference of the Animal Grantmakers! This year’s conference will be held on November 14-15, 2011 at the Sheraton Delfina Hotel in Santa Monica, California with an exciting bonus opportunity available on November 13!

We have an outstanding program assembled for this year’s conference. The sessions cover a wide range of animal-related issues: California’s animal protection policy approach and successes; local and international collaboration to stop industrial agriculture; wildlife; non-surgical spay/neuter alternatives; feral cats; and the challenges of rehoming special shelter populations. We’re also showcasing a presentation of the Foundation Center’s Philanthropy In/Sight: Animals Edition, an innovative online interactive mapping tool incorporating the Animal Grantmakers’ grant-giving database. Regardless of the types of programs your foundation addresses, this conference will help you more deeply understand the range of challenges affecting animals. And, the opportunity to talk with colleagues who share similar interests is, as always, one of the best aspects of our annual gathering.

Similar to last year, we will also be organizing lunchtime roundtable conversations on various topics which will be announced at the conference. We encourage you to suggest a topic on your registration form or, better yet, volunteer to facilitate a roundtable conversation!

Found Animals Foundation is hosting a mini-conference devoted to cats on Sunday, November 13th. This is a great opportunity to meet some of the local "movers and shakers" in the Los Angeles humane movement. Animal Grantmakers attendees and their guests are invited to attend free-of-charge.

Animal Grantmakers gratefully recognizes its member organizations for their support of the 2011 Conference with special acknowledgement to: PetSmart Charities; The Summerlee Foundation; Thelma Doelger Trust for Animals; The Edith J. Goode Residuary Trust; Glaser Progress Foundation; Maddie's Fund; and Found Animals Foundation.
